My family spent the last few days in the Kawartha Lakes Region in Northern Ontario. Talk about a ton of snow! Wow. That feels like Christmas I tell you.
Growing up in Quebec, I have always had an affinity for colder weather and for lots of snow. I think if we are going to have winter, it should be WINTER!!! if you know what I mean. We should have some fun with it. Which is what we did up north.
To continue to really enjoy the feasting and the loafing over the holidays, it is important to break things up with some activity and at least a few healthy meals. Luckily for me, my sister Stef is a regular workout person and she and I decided to keep things moving over the holidays. We planned out a workout that would take us about 45 minutes one morning and threw together a list of 7 exercises (Medicine Ball Chopper, Leg Cranks, Pushups, Ab Wheel, Dips, Hip Bridges, Bike or Treadmill) that we ran through three times as a circuit and hit it hard for the whole time. Later on in the day, we strapped on snowshoes and trekked out over Pigeon Lake for 2 hours. I have never snowshoed before, but, loved it and can't wait to go out again!
